Play with an AI Copilot

Hand your empire to Claude. SPAR Sector speaks MCP, so you can connect your live game from Claude Desktop, Claude Code, or any MCP-aware AI client and run it in plain language. Ask for the state of the market, weigh a trade, dispatch a MULE, scout a frontier system... and let your copilot do the clicking.

Not a bot that plays for you. An assistant you direct, bound by exactly the rules you are.

A second cockpit, not a second player

The Discord bot is one way into your game. The AI copilot is another window onto the same galaxy, the same ship, the same authoritative database state. Nothing is mirrored or simulated. When your copilot buys ore, the ore is in your hold the next time you open Discord.

It runs on a Model Context Protocol harness: a thin, official-SDK service that re-uses the exact same game logic the bot does. Your AI talks to it, it talks to the game, the game answers. The copilot is a translator between your intent and the turn compiler, nothing more and nothing less.

It can never cheat. Every action goes through the same gates a slash command does: combat locks, turn-submission freezes, fog of war, licenses, Action Points. If the rules say no, the copilot hears no. The house edge is the same whether a human or an agent is at the keyboard.

Preview, then commit

Good copilots check before they act, and SPAR Sector makes that the default. Every action has a matching preview: a dry run that computes the full cost, the margin, the Action Points, the cargo math, and any blocking condition, without touching your game.

So the rhythm is: you ask, the copilot previews, it narrates the trade-off back to you ("this MULE route clears 4.4% after the Guild tax and the Syndicate skim, below your 20% floor"), and only when you say go does it execute. You are always the captain. The AI just reads the instruments faster than you can.

What your copilot can do

Read the board

Ship status and cargo, the local Trade Floor, the job board, your assets, the mailbox, the turn clock, and a fast data-mode star map. One question, the whole picture.

Trade with eyes open

Preview a buy or sell with the true landed cost - Guild tax, Syndicate skim, license check, and the real cargo room including any docked-MULE holds - then execute when the margin is right.

Navigate the Sector

List single-hop warp targets with their Action-Point cost, jump, dock, and undock. Fog of war still applies: the copilot can only route to systems you have actually seen.

Run the logistics empire

Program MULE trade routes, engage idle R-SPARs and X-SPARs, dock and undock assets, and reposition warp-capable haulers across systems. The autonomous fleet, directed in a sentence.

Scout and exploit

Launch WHISKER probes to expand your map, scan a system for salvage and rival assets, and read each body's raw-resource multipliers - so your copilot can remember where the best M-SPAR sites are.

Close the round

Accept contracts, work the mailbox, and submit your turn when the orders are in. The copilot can drive the whole loop, or just the part you find tedious.

Getting connected

  1. In your game's Discord channel, run /ssconnect. It mints you a private access token (it looks like sk-ss-...) tied to your game and your captain.
  2. Add the SPAR Sector MCP server to your AI client's config, pointing at https://mcp.sparsector.com/mcp with that token as your bearer credential. The /ssconnect reply walks you through the exact snippet.
  3. Open a conversation and just talk to your empire. "What's selling well near me?" "Set up a MULE run if it clears 20%." "Scout the nearest unexplored system." Your copilot takes it from there.

The honest fine print

Which clients work. Any MCP client that supports a bearer token works today - Claude Desktop and Claude Code are the smoothest. The browser-only claude.ai web app cannot connect yet, because it wants a full OAuth handshake the harness does not speak. Desktop or Code is the way in.

It is gated, on purpose. Copilot access rides on your game access, the only place real money ever touches SPAR Sector. Every in-game purchase stays Solari-only, forever. The AI buys with your Solari, never your wallet.

It plays fair, structurally. The harness is built so an agent literally cannot reach around the game state. No private back door, no "just this once" bypass, no skipping a turn freeze. Same gates, same fog, same physics. The copilot is fast, not privileged.
